Subject: Let's talk GTA...
Well, I was talking to Nick about GTA 4 the other day, and apparently it's shit. The only fun thing about it is the killing sprees you can go on, which are fun for about 20 minutes, then they're just old. The graphics are sexy, but that's about it. Kind of expected it after the last few iterations of GTA 3. I'm sitting here with a copy of San Andreas about a foot away from me (the worst of all the GTA games, I might add, got sick of it after the first few OMG WE R TEH GANGSTAS missions, not to mention the fact that the whole gangsta thing sickens me anyway). In my mind, Vice City was the best out of em all. I don't know if Nick played multiplayer on GTA 4 or not tho. Multiplayer might actually be fun, as that's the saving grace for a lot of games, and is the meat and bones of many game franchises (Counter-Strike anyone?). I don't know, I'm personally looking forward to the new Star Wars game. The Force Unleashed looks DAMN sexy graphics-wise, and what I read about the engine makes me pretty much shit myself in anticipation. Go here to see the wiki on it, and this is the official LucasArts site for it. The game engine itself is worth buying the game for. I mean, I've played the entire Jedi Knight series, in fact I have them all, and it looks like they were all just practice for this game. I mean, if you force throw a stormtrooper into a wall hard enough, he leaves a dent in the wall. If you throw him into the wall enough times, the wall collapses. Real world physics. I'm not talking ragdoll physics, although those are pretty realistic, I'm talking realistic particle simulation. The AI looks to be a huge improvement in game AI as well. No, not an improvement, a leap. Say you force throw a storm trooper off of a catwalk. If he's close enough to the edge of the catwalk, he tries to grab the edge. If he manages to grab the edge, he can climb back up, pick up a rifle or pistol or whatever off the ground and attack you with it. Or if you throw a crate at him, he does whatever he can to dodge the crate. Imagine GTA with THOSE physics. You crash a car into a building, the car goes THROUGH the wall. Or if you hit a tree, if the velocity and the mass of the car are enough, it knocks down the tree or leaves a dent. The possibilities of this engine are mindboggling. I'll spend HOURS just tossing stormtroopers around

God I miss her. So many things I didn't say because I was too stupid to just come out and say it, some things I didn't say enough. Subject: Microsoft Rolled out SP3
Well, Microsoft rolled out Windows XP Service Pack 3 on the 29th of last month officially. They're also no longer going to be issuing new licenses for Windows XP, which means they'll probably going to stop supporting it as well. This, in my mind, is a fairly bad move on Microsoft's part, as Windows Vista has many problems, including the steep hardware requirements, compatibility issues, and most newer MS products are Vista exclusive. Well, Vista exclusive for now anyway. Word on the cyber streets are that MS is going to be releasing a new Windows OS sometime next year. Will MS be as aggressive in its deployment? Maybe. I believe Vista is just an interim release, just like Windows ME (remember all the problems on that? Oh dear god, the list is too huge!). Microsoft may be shooting itself in the foot, as Vista sales have had a sharp drop since the release of the operating system and Apple is taking advantage of this with a huge anti-Vista campaign. I've used Vista on a couple of occasions, and aside from some security tweaks that seem to be more annoying than useful, a few desktop enhancements, DX 10, and changing the way the file browsing works, it seems more rushed. I've used newbie Linux distros more stable. The driver system is utter crap, the DRM system is more pointless than anything else, and its anti-pirating security is a joke. They should have stuck with XP. Maybe with the new version rolling out in 09-10, we might see some of those annoying things fixed. Your average user doesn't have the steep hardware requirements that Vista demands, (at least 4 gigs of RAM to get the system to run half decent?!!!) nor can they afford it. With prices going up for everything, only time will tell if MS is shooting themselves in the foot, or if their aggressive campaign will pay off.

I've made a discovery! Stay away from the explosm.net forums. The comics are funny, but the admins of the site are morons. Along with 3/4 of the people on the forums. Yes, the same forum go-ers who suggest masturbation as a wonderful story idea for the interactive stories DARE to call me stupid. And the mods... they don't even know their own rules. Here's the rule I supposedly broke: Never post a pornographic/offensive picture in any of the forums. Link to it and give a warning. Now, here's the actual post they gave me the infraction for. Verbatum: Warning: Do not click this link unless you like watching infections being drained.
And then they edited it, took out the link, AND the warning and gave me an infraction.
Yeah. REALLY intelligent. They just prove every point I've ever made about the human race being populated by morons. I hope they choke and die. Seriously. And they gave me three points for apparently posting a pointless post which wasn't pointless because I actually wanted an opinion on that particular thing. Here's to explosm. May their site get hacked.

Nick is supposed to come visit in November, because he's apparently too gay to get me a birthday gift, even though I made him that badass comic for his birthday. It took a whole minute out of my time damn it! Two minutes if you count the time it takes to upload and update and shit. Anyway, I've long established repeatedly that he prefers the same sex over the opposite, which should be obvious by now if you know him. I didn't make another comic yet because, well, I'm lazy. going to require NICK'S input on even more scripts. I can only actually
remember one or two of them. Haven't decided if I want the comics to be
in the order of the stuff that happened, or just random stuff. We don't
really have a major plot line as of yet, as most of the shit we did
together was just completely random based on how bored we were and
whatever flammable objects we had handy. More soon

entertaining though. Also, somebody good with PHP would be nice, so we
could do an automatic update script, cuz we're lazy like that, and PHP
gives me a headache. Took us forever just to get the forum up. Anyway,

Made a cheap stick figure comic in paint, just for Nick's birthday gift. Also, I was bored. And I love cookies. Just gotta say this too... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLISON!

I'm having trouble setting up an automatic update PHP script so atm I'm making the comics their own individual pages, and they're just sprite comics I did for fun awhile back.
